Erie Sound Studio (Sandledfoot Returns)

Stuart, Thanks for the response. I have been thinking of adding subs for that purpose (the Adams A8Xs have fantastic low end response), but I don't think I have the physical space for additional traps... I have verticle corner traps in the rear corners, the right hand ceiling/wall is a duct chase, a...

Eric, Yes, the rear 703 I added was to improve absorption along the back wall. I knew I didn't have enough, and was going back and forth on having 'mobile' panels just hung on the wall, but I built the large absorber permanently to maximize the surface area of absorption. It did a good job cutting d...

Hey Eric, all, So i built another absorber on the rear wall. It is 3'x6'7" of 2"703 mounted 1.5" off the wall. (so a 1.5" air gap). See picture. CR_Rear_Treatment_703.jpg I took more measurements and did not really see that much of a result. I will build side wall absorbers, but ...

Currently back wall is two corner traps, both about 4ft across the front, the right rear trap (by the door) is about 8" deep, angled to 4" deep. The Left Rear trap is 2ft deep angled to 4". Between the traps, there is about from the floor to 30" of 4" thick rockwool batts. T...

Eric, All, I didn't realize the share link was file specific, not to the folder. (I also edited the post above to include the link above) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1a6LR2zo0ObCiGBnH76wSt5qm73nxuNFX/view?usp=sharing The first photo shows both clouds, and the 'temporary' absorption panel on the ...

Erie Sound Studio (Sandledfoot Returns)

Hi All, I'm starting to get a bit nervous on my measurements. It seems i'm either getting some significant modes or comb filtering looking at my waterfall plots. The significant caviot is that i still don't have the door installed, but I will remedy that this week. (the doors have arrived and are mo...

still working... I did lighting, built an additional rear wall trap, fixed the mis-wired from manufacturer lighting, finally received my doors, and those are in progress now for paint and stain... seems to be the next last big thing to start really testing the room. I am also working on some other d...

Not sure why the last post didn't include my images, but here are the alignment and the progress from this weekend. I got the baffles completely built, the top 'sealed' and stuffed. it's 98% full of rockwool. I used some ductboard to create vent chase above the speaker. I also cut the speaker hole, ...

New dream house with studio and workshop.

Also, as you have mentioned, your weak link is probably not concrete walls, rather your ceiling and roof structure. From a practical standpoint, you can match the outer wall density, or as Jennifer said, find what your room will require. I will also note that you can lower your target isolation rang...

Hi Paul, Aside from the sideways pictures, thanks for the comment. I was frustrated with those cracks, since I even tested those specific screws on some scrap mdf, but... oh well. Those boxes are glued and screwed, so I don't think the cracks will pose any problem. Those boxes are tight, since i bui...

I have the soffit frames built. I am mounting the speaker box and will then take measurements to cut the baffle. I will do a super chunk on the bottom and will line the top with 3.5" all around rockwool.
