hello from Kanagawa, Japan

Hello all,
My name is devon osamu tipp - I am a shakuhachi player, improviser/composer based in Japan. I live in Chigasaki about an hour southwest of Tokyo proper. I am here with my spouse who is a university professor and a hobby musician who plays shamisen, sings, and also has experience playing taiko. We have two cats.

Before moving to Japan I was based in Pittsburgh where I did my Masters & PhD in music theory and composition, researching contemporary music for Japanese instruments.

Very happy to be here and able to chat and get advice from all of you - excited to interact with yinz all ^_^
