Floating floor meets isolated Wall...

See attachments. Which design will attenuate LF more effectively, especially through the floor? Studio Lore 101 has always insisted that walls be built upon floated floors, but as this wall must have the stud fixed to the slab under the floating floor, the options are to either have the isolated wall extend down to the slab (stopping short and gap filled with closed cell rubber), or, isolated wall hovering over floating floor with similar gap filled rubber.

Could one really be better than the other? How could you prove it? Thanks.

Floating floor meets isolated Wall...

it's not "lore", it's simply based on actual testing of construction configurations. LOL. that said, why do you want to float the floor? the type you are describing will not likely meet your needs for true LF isolation.
